Patient-centered care offerings

Our goal at Maury Regional Health is to provide patient-centered care at each of our facilities. The following amenities are examples of patient-centered amenities available at Maury Regional Medical Center.  Availability of these amenities at other medical centers may vary.

Catering To You — Our catering program allows our patients a personal choice in the selection of their meal options.

Healing Environment — Throughout the medical center, there are many areas — including our private patient rooms — that offer a comfortable healing environment.

Magazine Cart — Staffed by volunteers, our magazine cart offers a variety of reading materials for our patients and their visitors.

Musicians/Relaxation Music — Classical guitar, violin and even dulcimer music can be heard in the hallways coming from musicians who volunteer both their time and talent. A baby-grand piano is also available in the front lobby for anyone, visitors and staff alike, who would like to “tickle the ivories.”

Natural Area — Patients and visitors are encouraged to visit the front of the medical center (weather permitting) to relax and enjoy a bit of nature by our peaceful fountain.

Patient Access to the Medical Record — Patients are encouraged to partner in their care and can access their medical record during their inpatient stay. Caregivers are available to assist patients who wish to access their record.

Patient Advocate — Our patient advocate is here to ensure that any patient or family issues or concerns are addressed appropriately. She works with patients and hospital staff to facilitate the resolution of issues for the purpose of ensuring a positive patient experience. The patient advocate will assist you if you have any questions or concerns about any aspect of care or service. Contact information varies by facility. The patient advocate at Maury Regional Medical Center may be reached during normal business hours at extension 4884. Voicemail is provided and all calls are returned within one business day. You may also choose to send your comment by e-mail to MyExperience@MauryRegional.com. Concerns requiring a more immediate response can be directed to the house supervisor who can be reached through the switchboard by dialing zero in the medical center or by calling 931.381.1111.

Patient Support Partner (PSP) — The PSP program allows you to designate a close friend or family member to become involved in your care as a member of your health care team. This program helps to improve your stay by allowing your PSP to participate in your care and to assist with your recovery even after discharge.

Patient and Family Partnership Council (PFPC) — The purpose of our PFPC is to engage community members, including former patients, in the goals and projects of the medical center. If you are interested in becoming a part of this council, please contact the patient experience coordinator at extension 4456.

Pet Therapy — We have several certified pet-therapy animals (and their handlers) available to visit patients. As an inpatient, you just might receive a visit from one of our furry friends if you are an animal lover.

Service Ambassadors — Located throughout the medical center, our team of dedicated volunteers will always welcome you with a smile and offer assistance. From obtaining a wheelchair to giving directions, they are ready and willing to respond to any visitor's need.

Spiritual Services — Maury Regional Health recognizes that spiritual support is an integral part of creating an environment dedicated to patient-centered care, which is why we have a pastoral care coordinator on staff to assist with any of your spiritual needs. Our chapel offers a quiet spiritual reprieve for patients and visitors. We offer a number of available resources, including a prayer box and a prayer book should you like to request prayers from our Spiritual Support team. Our caregivers or pastoral care coordinator will also be glad to contact your pastor if you ask them to do so. The pastoral care coordinator may be reached at extension 4243.

Visitors – Please see current visitation guidelines for our facilities here.
