Maury Regional Medical Center announces smoking cessation classes

COLUMBIA, Tenn.—If you have decided to break the habit of smoking, MRMC offers support through a group smoking cessation program that will take place during the month of July.

The program will consist of a series of four classes held each Monday beginning July 1 from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in the First Floor Conference Room at the medical center. Classes are as follows:

  • July 1 – Starting Out & Removing Roadblocks
  • July 8 – Getting Ready to Quit
  • July 15 – Staying Off Cigarettes
  • July 22 – Questions and Celebrations

All instructors are former smokers and health professionals who understand the challenges that come with breaking this habit. Group interaction will be promoted in an effort to develop a support network among those with the same goal—to stop smoking. Participants are required to purchase a $10 class guide which contains exercises for each class topic.
