MAURY REGIONAL HEALTH CARE FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES ART EFFECTS DATES

COLUMBIA, Tenn. – The Maury Regional Health Care Foundation is holding Art Effects, the fifth annual art show, on Friday, August 5, from noon until 8 p.m. and Saturday, August 6, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Memorial Building in Columbia. Regional artists whose mediums include oil, watercolor, pottery, jewelry and much more will be present at the event.

According to Joe Kilgore, executive director of the foundation, the 2011 Art Effects featured artist is Lucie Mays of Columbia. A native of Knoxville, Mays has made Columbia her home for the past 40 years and, with her husband, has raised two sons.

She has been interested in art throughout her life and has studied with many nationally acclaimed artists in this country as well as Europe. She paints weekly in Nashville with Russian Master Artists, Paul Zeppelin and the Paddock Group. Her impressionistic style of art has been influenced through the years by her surroundings and travel. She has participated in a number of art shows in Nashville and Columbia.

“Lucie Mays is a very talented local artist who has been a part of the foundation’s art show since its beginning in 2007. I appreciate her talent and am extremely pleased that she is the featured artist this year,” said Kilgore.

Proceeds from this year’s art show benefit the programs and services provided by the Community Health Fund. To learn more about the foundation or to make a donation, visit www.mauryregionalfoundation.com or call 931.380.4075.
