MAURY REGIONAL PHYSICIANS AMONG BEST DOCTORS IN AMERICA

COLUMBIA, Tenn. — Two Maury Regional Medical Center physicians were among those named Best Doctors in America®, according to a database compiled by Boston-based Best Doctors Inc. Rufus R. Clifford, Jr., M.D., a specialist in pediatrics, and Bryan R. Kurtz, M.D., a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology, were recognized by this organization.

The Best Doctors in America® database includes the names and professional profiles of doctors chosen through a comprehensive peer-review survey of tens of thousands of physicians who are asked, "If you or a loved one needed a doctor in your specialty, to whom would you refer them?" Only five percent of physicians in more than 40 medical subspecialties are selected for each Best Doctors list, which comes out every two years.

Dr. Clifford received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis. He completed his residency at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Dr. Clifford has been in practice in Columbia for more than 46 years.

Dr. Kurtz received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis. He completed his residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and received fellowship training in endoscopic surgery at Centennial Medical Center. Dr. Kurtz has been associated with Maury Regional Medical Center for nearly nine years.

Each Best Doctor physician is evaluated by the Best Doctors Inc. to ensure his or her status in the listing. The Best Doctors survey has been conducted annually by Best Doctors Inc. since 1992.
