COLUMBIA, Tenn.—Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia will offer a free seminar and screening for oral, head and neck cancer on Friday, April 15. The seminar and screening registration will take place in Private Dining Room 1, located on the medical center’s ground floor.

Dr. Stephen Parey, an otolaryngologist on the medical staff, will present the seminar at 1:00 p.m. addressing the common causes of oral, head and neck cancer as well as diagnosis and treatment options. Otolaryngologists Shaun Corbin, M.D., and Ryan Duncan, M.D., will join him to conduct the free screenings from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Individuals who use tobacco products and/or consume alcohol regularly are at increased risk for oral, head and neck cancer and are encouraged to attend this free screening. In fact, more than 85 percent of these cancers are directly linked to tobacco and alcohol use. The screening is a quick and painless test and no appointment is necessary.

This is the thirteenth year that Maury Regional Medical Center has sponsored this event in conjunction with physicians on the medical staff. For more information about this event, please call 931.380.4057.
