COLUMBIA, Tenn.—Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia will offer a free seminar and screening for oral, head and neck cancer on Friday, April 20. The seminar will take place in the Auxiliary Conference Room, located on the medical center’s ground floor.

Dr. Stephen Parey, an otolaryngologist on the medical staff, will present the seminar at 1 p.m. addressing the common causes of oral, head and neck cancer as well as diagnosis and treatment options. Otolaryngologist Shaun Corbin, M.D., and radiation oncologist Michael Sattasiri, M.D., will join him to conduct the free screenings from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. in the First Floor Conference Room.

Individuals who use tobacco products and/or consume alcohol regularly are at increased risk for oral, head and neck cancer and are encouraged to register for this free, quick and painless screening. More than 85 percent of these cancers are directly linked to tobacco and alcohol use.
