Cardiologist to speak at next Health Hearts meeting

                                                                             

COLUMBIA, Tenn. — Dr. Michael B. Kelley, M.D., a specialist in cardiology on the medical staff of Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC), will present a seminar entitled “Heart Disease 101” at the August 22nd meeting of the MRMC Healthy Hearts Education Group.

Dr. Kelley will discuss important factors about what you should know about your heart and heart disease including: 

  • Your heart’s anatomy and how it functions
  • Signs of heart disease you might not know about
  • Prevention & Secondary Prevention
  • Treatment Options
  • Questions & Answers

Dr. Kelley received his medical degree from the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont, where he completed his internship and chief residency in internal medicine. In addition, he completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Vanderbilt University. He is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. Dr. Kelley is affiliated with Vanderbilt Heart-Columbia.

The Healthy Hearts Education Group meets quarterly at 6 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month at the MRMC Annex, located across from the medical center at 1223½ Trotwood  Avenue. Meetings are free and open to the public. Anyone interested in learning more about the self-care and management of heart disease is encouraged to attend.
