Community Outreach Report
2014 Cancer Screenings
In an effort to identify cancer in its earliest stages, Maury Regional Medical Center and its affiliates, in conjunction with physicians on the medical staff, offer free cancer screenings on an annual basis.
During 2014, the medical center and providers on the medical staff were pleased to partner in offering two free cancer screenings. Approximately 70 people participated in these screenings. The screenings included:
Skin Cancer Screening - September 2014 (Hohenwald)
Skin Cancer Screening - December 2014 (Pulaski)
Community members whose screening findings are determined to warrant further evaluation are notified at the time of the screening and/or via follow-up communication. Those without a physician are encouraged to use our Physician Referral Line or use our Web-based physician directory to locate a physician.
In addition to these screenings, the medical center and physicians on the medical staff provided educational seminars during 2014 with emphasis the risk factors and symptoms of certain types of cancer, including breast cancer.
