2012 Cancer Screenings
In an effort to identify cancer in its earliest stages, Maury Regional Medical Center and its affiliates, in conjunction with physicians on the medical staff, offer free cancer screenings on an annual basis.
During 2012, the medical center and physicians on the medical staff were pleased to partner in offering four free cancer screenings. More than 200 people participated in these screenings. The screenings included:
Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Screening - April 2012
Skin Cancer Screening - May 2012
Skin Cancer Screening - September 2012
Prostate Cancer Screening - September 2012
Community members whose screening findings are determined to warrant further evaluation are notified at the time of the screening and/or via follow-up communication. Those without a physician are encouraged to use our Physician Referral Line or use our Web-based physician directory to locate a physician.
In addition to these screenings, the medical center and physicians on the medical staff provided several educational seminars during 2012 about the risk factors and symptoms of certain types of cancer.
