MAURY REGIONAL HEART CENTER RELEASES HEALTHY LIVING COOKBOOK
COLUMBIA, Tenn.— The Heart Center at Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) recently released Cooking for Life, a cookbook featuring recipes for healthy living, information on the Heart Center and tips for heart healthy eating. The Maury Regional Healthcare Foundation will use all proceeds to support cardiac patients.
“There are a number of lifestyle choices that contribute to having a healthy heart, and having a nutritious diet low in fats and cholesterol is one of them,” said Dr. Janice Vinson, a specialist in cardiology on the medical staff at MRMC who is quoted and pictured in the cookbook. “Being heart healthy doesn’t mean giving up taste. Numerous, flavorful and filling recipes are included in the cookbook such as Greek lasagna, smothered pork chops and raspberry chocolate soufflé.”
Recipes include tasty appetizers and seasonings, hearty breakfast items, salads, sides, sauces, enticing entrees and decadent desserts. A nutritional analysis is provided for each recipe, listing the number of calories, grams of fat, carbohydrates, fiber and more.
Cooking for Life is available for purchase for $18.95 plus tax at the MRMC Gift Shop, as well as Lewis Health Center, Marshall Medical Center and Wayne Medical Center. Phone orders may be made by calling the Maury Regional Healthcare Foundation at 931.380.4075.
