MAURY REGIONAL DIABETES EDUCATION GROUP DISCUSSES NON-HEALING WOUNDS

COLUMBIA, Tenn.— The Diabetes Education Group at Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) will host a meeting titled “Chronic Wounds” on Tuesday, April 6, in the medical center’s Private Dining Room One at 11:30 a.m. The group, which meets monthly at MRMC, encourages the public to attend this free event.

Sherri Jones, program director at the MRMC Wound Center, will discuss chronic wounds as possible complications of diabetes, and how hyperbaric therapy is used in treating wounds.

“At any given time approximately eight million Americans suffer from chronic wounds,” said Donna Shedd, diabetes program coordinator. “Diabetics are at a greater risk to have these non-healing wounds. Learn more about risk factors and treatments at our next meeting.”
