Diabetes Education Group to discuss link between diabetes and risk for depression
COLUMBIA, Tenn. – The Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) Diabetes Education Group will meet at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, in the medical center’s Private Dining Room One. Senior Life Expressions Intake Coordinator Stephanie Neely will discuss the connection between diabetes management and the risk for depression. The public is invited to attend this free program.
“Studies show that diabetes and depression may be linked, but what’s the connection? At this meeting we will talk about the stress of managing diabetes, the risk for depression and treatment options so people with diabetes can enjoy a better quality of life,” said Neely.
The Diabetes Education Group meets regularly on the first Tuesday of each month to discuss and share helpful information about diabetes and related illnesses. It is one component of MRMC’s award-winning outpatient diabetes education program, received following rigorous onsite auditing by the American Diabetes Association.
