MAURY REGIONAL DIABETES EDUCATION GROUP DISCUSSES MEDICATION

COLUMBIA, Tenn. — The Diabetes Education Group at Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) will host a meeting titled “Diabetes Medications” on Tuesday, June 7, in the medical center’s Private Dining Room One at 11:30 a.m. The group, which meets monthly at MRMC, encourages the public to attend this free event.

David Perry, a clinical pharmacist on the medical staff at MRMC, will discuss medications that are commonly used for the treatment of diabetes.

“Diet and exercise are often helpful in controlling diabetes,” said Donna Shedd, RN and certified diabetes educator at MRMC. “Even with those lifestyle changes, medication is often necessary to help keep blood sugar levels within normal range. At the upcoming meeting, we will discuss some medications prescribed to those with diabetes.”
