MAURY REGIONAL DIABETES EDUCATION GROUP DISCUSSES ARTHRITIS IN DIABETICS

COLUMBIA, Tenn. — The Diabetes Education Group at Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) will host a meeting titled “Arthritis in Diabetics” on Tuesday, June 2, in the medical center’s Private Dining Room One at 11:30 a.m. The group, which meets monthly at MRMC, encourages the public to attend this free event.

Dr. Scott McCall, a physician specializing in orthopedic surgery, will discuss the signs, symptoms and treatment of arthritis and its connection to diabetes.

“According to the Center for Disease Control, more than half of people with diabetes also suffer from arthritis,” said Donna Shedd, RN, and diabetes program coordinator at MRMC. “Join the Diabetes Education Group this month to learn more about the connections between diabetes and arthritis.”
