Maury Regional Health Care Foundation announces 5K results

COLUMBIA, Tenn.  – More than $2,700 was raised for the Family and Friends Nutrition Fund of the Maury Regional Health Care Foundation through a 5K event on May 17. The Feed the Need, Run for Fun 5K and one-mile fun run was held at Maury County Park with 116 participants.

Spencer Jensen, M.D., logged the fastest time at 20:19, winning first place in the men’s division. Logan Pierce took second place in the men’s division with a time of 20:24. Corey Stout finished at 22:08 for third place in the men’s division.

In the women’s division, Katherine Jensen posted a time of 21:08, placing first. Jude Campbell finished at 26:24, for second place in the women’s division. Mellissa Deschamps finished at 26:31, for third in the women’s division.

The event, sponsored by the Legal and Compliance Department at Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC), benefited the Foundation’s Friends and Family Nutrition Fund to provide food to patients who might otherwise go without a healthy meal. Since the fund was established in July 2012, more than 240 families have received assistance. Participants donated 328 pounds of non-perishable food items for the food pantry at MRMC.
