Dr. Gardner to speak at next Healthy Hearts meeting

COLUMBIA, Tenn. — Dr. Ben A. Gardner, M.D., a specialist in internal medicine and palliative care on the medical staff of Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC), will be the guest speaker at the November 21 meeting of the Healthy Hearts Education Group which will take place at 6 p.m. in the MRMC Annex, located across from the medical center at 1223½ Trotwood Avenue.

Dr. Gardner’s topic for this meeting will be “Choosing Wisely.” The meeting will include a discussion about questions you should ask your physician.

Dr. Gardner received his medical degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama and completed his residency at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado. He is board certified in internal medicine and palliative care and hospice.

The Healthy Hearts Education Group meets quarterly and is free and open to the public. Anyone interested in learning more about the self-care and management of heart disease is encouraged to attend.
