COLUMBIA, Tenn.— Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) honored Waymon L. Hickman for 25 years of service at the medical center’s board meeting on February 19. Hickman recently retired as chairman of the board of trustees, a position he had held since 2000.
Hickman began his service to the medical center in 1984 and has either chaired or served on every committee of the board during that time. According to Robert Otwell, MRMC CEO, Hickman has supported the medical center and its efforts to maintain modern facilities, utilize state-of-the-art technology, and maintain a highly skilled medical and clinical staff.
“During the past twenty-five years, his wisdom, character and vision have helped to guide Maury Regional Medical Center through a period of significant growth and his contributions to health care in our community will indeed affect generations to come. Waymon Hickman feels a higher calling to make our community a better place to live and has recognized that quality health care is a key contributor to a better quality of life. He has tirelessly worked to achieve the goals and objectives that he believes to be in the best interest of the medical center and the citizens of the region. We owe him a debt of gratitude,” said Otwell.
