MAURY REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER PROVIDES GIFTS TO COUNTY STUDENTS

COLUMBIA, Tenn.— Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) sponsored the eleventh annual Holiday Hugs gift drive that provides needy school children of Maury County with gifts of winter jackets and clothing. Medical center employees, physicians and volunteers provided gifts to 494 children from 14 Maury County elementary and middle schools this year.

“We had 27 percent more children on the list this year compared to last year. Considering the difficult economic times this holiday season, we are so thankful to all the employees, physicians and volunteers who sponsored a child this year. Their generosity is positively impacting our local community,” said Cindy Fox, director of volunteer services.

Gift tags were created with the children’s first names, ages, sizes and their school’s dress code colors, and placed on Christmas trees at the medical center. Wrapped gifts were delivered to the schools on December 11.
