Lewis Health Center to host health fair on September 15

                                                                                                      

HOHENWALD, Tenn. – Lewis Health Center will host its annual community health fair on Saturday, September 15, from 8:00 a.m. until noon. The event will be held in the Family Life Center at Blondy Church of God, located at 529 Swan Avenue in Hohenwald.

The free event will feature booths offering services and information on a variety of health and wellness topics, according to Dr. Dustin Flowers, director. Free screenings and wellness tests will include:

  • Blood pressure checks
  • Body mass index (BMI)
  • Bone density analysis
  • Grip strength assessment
  • Lipid panel/glucose screening (must be fasting)
  • Oxygen saturation
  • Pulmonary function testing
  • Skin cancer screening provided by Dr. Michael Sattasiri, a specialist in radiation oncology
  • Speech pathology screenings for children 

In addition to the informational booths and wellness screenings, children will be able to enjoy games and activities. Free food and drinks will be provided and door prizes will be awarded.

The public is encouraged to attend this free health fair sponsored by Lewis Health Center and Lewis County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, along with Behavioral Healthcare Center at Columbia, Cornerstone Health Systems, D&L Home Care, Inc., Health Angels, Hospice Compassus, Lincare, Medical Necessities and Independence on Wheels, State Representative Joey Hensley, M.D., TN Quality Homecare and Hospice and Volunteer Home Care of West TN.
