MARSHALL MEDICAL CENTER PRESENTS COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

LEWISBURG, Tenn. — Marshall Medical Center (MMC) has awarded college scholarships to two area high school students who plan to pursue careers in health care, according to CEO Phyllis Brown.

Ashley Corning and Rachel Zajac, both seniors at Marshall County High School, were the 2011 recipients of $1,000 scholarships awarded yearly by MMC to students pursuing a career in the human medicine field. Both students plan to attend the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

This is the 15th year that MMC has awarded scholarships to area high school students through the Partners in Education program.

“It is with great pleasure that Marshall Medical Center gives these scholarships in recognition of the achievements by these students,” said Lisa Steely, senior accountant and Partners in Education coordinator for MMC. “Our desire is to continue this support of our local school system through participation in the Partners in Education program, scholarships and donations.”
