Marshall Medical Center employees assist tornado victims

LEWISBURG, Tenn. — Employees of Marshall Medical Center (MMC) are lending a helping hand to their neighbors in Lincoln County affected by recent severe storms.

MMC staff members recently filled two pickup trucks with donations for use by victims of the April tornadoes that left heavy damage in Lincoln County. The items were donated through the American Red Cross for distribution to storm victims.

According to MMC CEO Phyllis Brown, ten cases of drinking water, 114 gallons of water and cases of bath tissue, paper towels, toothpaste and toiletry items were delivered to storm victims. Also donated were baby care items, pet food, cleaning supplies, trash bags and other items.

“We are all very mindful of the devastation that our friends in Lincoln County are facing after these recent storms,” said Brown. “Our employees wanted to assist with the recovery efforts and hope that these donations will be very helpful in the days and weeks to come.”

In addition to the donations, Brown said that several MMC employees spent time assisting Lincoln County residents with cleanup efforts.
