Maury Regional announces smoking cessation classes

COLUMBIA, Tenn. — If you have decided to break the habit of smoking, Maury Regional Medical Center offers support through a group smoking cessation program during the month of April.

The program will consist of a series of four classes held each Monday beginning April 2 from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in the First Floor Conference Room at the medical center. Classes are as follows:

  • April 2 – Starting Out & Removing Roadblocks
  • April 9 – Getting Ready to Quit
  • April 16 – Staying Off Cigarettes
  • April 23 – Questions and Celebrations

All instructors are former smokers and health professionals who understand the challenges that come with breaking this habit. Group interaction will be promoted in an effort to develop a support network among those with the same goal—to stop smoking. Participants are required to purchase a $10 class guide with exercises for each class topic.
