MAURY REGIONAL HOSTS FREE SEMINAR ON 2011 MEDICARE CHANGES

COLUMBIA, Tenn. – Maury Regional Medical Center will sponsor a free seminar titled “Medicare – Looking Ahead to 2011” on Monday, November 22. The program will begin at 2 p.m. in the Auxiliary Conference Room on the medical center’s first floor.

Jan Graves, coordinator of the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), will provide information about what changes are ahead for Medicare in the coming year. “Some key changes which take effect on January 1st may impact how those on Medicare receive their benefits,” said Graves.

At the upcoming seminar, Graves will discuss the elimination of Private Fee-For-Service Medicare Advantage plans and the availability of Medigap policies to those under age 65 in Tennessee.

The seminar will also address changes to Medicare as authorized by the Affordable Care Act and offer an overview of the 2011 Part D drug plan offerings. Graves will provide an overview of all 2011 plan pricing and will give instructions on performing a plan comparison and enrolling in a new plan.

The program is free and open to the public. Registration is not required.
