November support group meeting dates announced

COLUMBIA, Tenn. — Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) offers a variety of education and support groups led by dedicated staff members who volunteer their time and expertise to help ensure community members learn more about managing their health. The public is invited to attend these free meetings. The Diabetes Education Group will meet on Tuesday, November 6, at 11:30 a.m. in the medical center’s Private Dining Room One. Faith Hendrix, registered nurse and licensed massage therapist, will discuss and demonstrate different ways to relieve stress during the holidays. For more information, call 931.540.4324.

Lungs for Life, the COPD Support Group, will meet at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 7, in Private Dining Room One of Maury Regional Medical Center. MRMC Chief Clinical Dietitian Cindy Dugger will discuss and offer tips on eating healthy through the holidays. Lungs for Life meets on the first Wednesday of each month to promote self-care and management of COPD. For more information, call 931.380.4094.

The Breast Cancer Support Group will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, November 19, at the Women’s Center located in the MRMC Outpatient Pavilion. The Breast Cancer support group meets on the third Monday of each month. More information may be obtained by calling 931.540.4166.

Maury Regional Medical Center will host a seminar entitled “Controlling Your Blood Sugar” at 6 p.m., Tuesday, November 20, at the MRMC Annex, located at 1223 ½ Trotwood Avenue (across from the medical center). To register for this event please call 931.540.4324 or 490.7428.

Expectant Parent Classes are offered each month with a variety of course topics, including a six-hour comprehensive class, breastfeeding, and a sibling’s class designed for new brothers and sisters.
