Ostomy Partners to meet April 24

COLUMBIA, Tenn. — The Ostomy Support Group will meet on Thursday, April 24, at 6 p.m. in the Maury Regional Medical Center Annex, located across from the medical center at 1223 ½ Trotwood Avenue.

Certified ostomy nurse Beryl Price Evans will be this month’s special guest speaker.

Evans began her medical career as an Emergency Room Nurse at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia, where she eventually became Director of Enterostomal Therapy at that institution. Evans also served in the same position at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee before accepting the director position at Fort Sanders Ostomy Center. She currently is owner and director of The Pouch Place Enterostomal Centers in in Chattanooga and Knoxville, Tennessee.

The Ostomy Support Group meets on the fourth Thursday of each month. This support group is for persons who have had an ileostomy, colostomy or urostomy. For more information, call 931.698.7438. Information on  other support groups and community events can be found at mauryregional.com.
