HOUSTON PARKS JOINS MAURY REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER BOARD

COLUMBIA, Tenn.— Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) welcomed Houston Parks to the board of trustees for his first meeting on February 19.

“We are honored to have Houston join the board of trustees. His knowledge and expertise will be a tremendous benefit to our board and the communities that we serve,” said Doug Williamson, board chairman.

Parks, a Columbia native, is general counsel at First Farmers and Merchants Bank. He has been employed at F&M since 1997 and has served as senior trust officer and chief operating officer prior to his current position with the organization. In addition, he was formerly a member of a private law practice in Columbia.

Parks received his bachelor’s degree from Rhodes College before attaining a law degree from the University of Tennessee. He has also attended Cannon Trust School and the Executive Banking Institute.

He is currently the president of the board of directors for the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands. He also serves on the boards of Maury Alliance, Martin Methodist College, and The Mediation Center of Columbia. He was a co-founder and former chairman of Leadership Maury and former chairman of the Maury County Board of Education.
