MAURY REGIONAL OFFERS SPEECH AND HEARING SCREENINGS FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN
In recognition of Speech and Hearing Month, Maury Regional Hospital’s Physical Therapy Center will be offering two free screenings—one for children and one for adults—during May.
On May 18, a speech and hearing screening will be conducted for children, ages 3-5, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. If you have a hard time understanding your child, your child seems to ignore you, your child talks loudly, or turns the television up to a high volume, these may be signs of a hearing problem. Also, if your child has a history of ear infections, they may have some hearing difficulties.
On May 23, a hearing screening will be conducted for adults from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Those encouraged to attend are individuals who often have difficulty understanding others, especially in areas such as restaurants with background noise, have to ask others to repeat themselves, or have friends and/or family who have mentioned that their hearing has gotten worse.
Licensed speech language pathologists will conduct both screenings in the new Maury Regional Physical Therapy Center located at 858 West James Campbell Boulevard. For more information, call 931.380.4014.
