MAURY REGIONAL SPORTS THERAPY OPENS AT THE MEDICAL PLAZA AT CREEKSIDE
COLUMBIA, Tenn.— Maury Regional Sports Physical Therapy opened on November 26, making it the first health care provider to open for business at the new Medical Plaza at Creekside at 1050 N. James Campbell Boulevard.
“While we have the ability to treat a variety of patients in the new facility, it is geared more toward the therapy needs of athletes—from those playing organized sports to the weekend warrior,” said Cindy Kington, director of physical medicine at Maury Regional Hospital. “One of the greatest features we offer is the HydroWorx® 600 aquatic therapy pool, the only one of its kind in Middle Tennessee.”
The HydroWorx® 600 offers a variable speed treadmill within the pool that increases in speed at safe increments to provide low-impact therapy using water resistance. For additional resistance, the pool has a jet system that is essential for competitive sports performance training, swimming or deep tissue massage.
“With this new equipment, we believe that in some cases we can take weeks off of the recovery time required for athletes to return to normal activity,” said Kington.
In addition to the pool, equipment includes Cybex stacked weight equipment, a work simulator machine, and a plyometrics area with a special surface designed for sports rehabilitation.
The new Maury Regional Sports Physical Therapy, located in suite 110, is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. It is staffed with physical therapists and patient care technicians. To schedule an appointment with a physician’s order, call 931.388.3850.
