MAURY REGIONAL HOSPITAL OFFERS HELP TO STOP SMOKING

COLUMBIA, Tenn.—Maury Regional Hospital is offering help to those whose New Year resolution is to stop smoking. The hospital will offer a smoking cessation class beginning January 8. The eight-week course will be held on Tuesdays from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., January 8 through February 26, in the Auxiliary Conference Room.

Meetings are conducted in a group setting that provides support from peers who also want to quit.  The instructor—a former smoker—has received training from the American Lung Association as a certified smoking cessation facilitator and utilizes materials from the American Lung Association’s Freedom from Smoking® program.

The fee for the eight-week course is $100, with $25 going towards the purchase of education materials.  Those who attend seven of the eight sessions will be refunded $50 upon completion of the program.  Those interested may attend the first class meeting without obligation.

Class size is limited.  For more information or to register contact the Maury Regional Hospital Staff Development Office at 381.1111, ext. 2462 or 2334.
