WAYNE MEDICAL CENTER ATTAINS HIGH PATIENT SATISFACTION
WAYNESBORO, Tenn.— Wayne Medical Center (WMC) has received patient ratings above national and regional benchmarks for overall rating of the hospital and clean hospital environment in a survey conducted among inpatients who had received care at the hospital, according to Mike Sears, acting administrator.
Inpatient perceptions were measured utilizing a phone survey administered from August through October 2007 by an independent research firm that is a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approved vendor. The resulting report summarizes inpatient perspectives on the general quality of hospital services and the results are used to support initiatives that will maintain or enhance Wayne Medical Center’s inpatient care.
Topics addressed in the survey on which Wayne Medical Center excelled include:
- Clean hospital environment: 100%
- Willingness to recommend hospital: 96.1%
- Communication with doctors: 96%
- Communication with nurses: 92.7%
- Rating of the hospital: 92.2%
- Quiet hospital environment: 91.7%
- Responsiveness of staff: 88.4%
Percentages indicate the number of individuals who stated always, usually, definitely yes and probably yes to the questions addressing these areas of quality.
“We take great pride in the care that we deliver to our patients,” said Sears. “It is rewarding for our efforts to be recognized in the responses from our patients in this survey. I’m proud of the capable and caring physicians and staff at Wayne Medical Center who continuously strive to provide extraordinary care to the residents in our region.”
