Ambulance
Service
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is an “A” rated ambulance service. This rating, the highest possible rating in the state, is the result of proper equipment and well-trained personnel.
EMS in Lewis County operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Ambulances are staffed with paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). These medical professionals have State of Tennessee certification to provide the highest quality emergency medical care.
Laboratory
The LACC conducts a variety of routine diagnostic tests such as
blood sugar levels, complete blood counts, cholesterol, pregnancy
testing, strep screens for throats, urinalysis and others. Drug
screen collections are available for industrial accounts. A daily
courier service to Maury Regional Hospital Laboratory in Columbia
has been established for transporting specimens on non-routine
blood work such as urine cultures, thyroid tests, PSAs and arthritis
profiles.
Physical Therapy
The Physical Therapy Department at the Lewis Ambulatory Care Center
evaluates and treats a wide variety of patients, including general
orthopedics and sports injuries, those suffering from burns,
strokes, arthritis, fractures, post-operative procedures, wounds,
amputees and spinal cord injuries; those recovering from car
accidents and job-related mishaps; and others recovering from
injuries of all types. Treatment may take a variety of forms,
the most important being therapeutic exercise. Services Include:

rehabilitation
- General physical therapy
- Spine rehabilitation
- Sports injury recovery
- Wound care
- Neurological rehabilitation for patients recovering
from a stroke or head injury

Industrial Physicals
Lewis Ambulatory
Care Center provides industrial physicals for employees of area companies,
allowing them information to make an accurate assessment of an employee's
fitness to begin or return to work following an injury. For

Diagnostic
Imaging
Radiology technologists who are trained to operate X-ray and ultrasound
equipment are on staff. Procedures such as X-rays for broken
bones can be done on the premises. The LACC also performs mammograms.
All X-rays and mammograms are read and interpreted by board certified
radiologists with Southern Radiology Associates on staff at Maury
Regional Hospital. Ultrasound procedures are available for follow-up
on obstetrical, pelvic, gallbladder, liver, kidney and pancreas
studies. The LACC can also perform venous studies to check for
blockages.
