COLUMBIA, Tenn.— Maury Regional Medical Center is launching a new program of classes to help those who want to quit smoking. The program will consist of a series of four classes held each Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in the first floor conference room at the medical center. Classes for January are as follows:
January 5 – Class I: Starting Out & Removing Roadblocks
January 12 – Class II: Getting Ready to Quit
January 19 – Class III: Staying Off Cigarettes
January 26 – Questions and Celebrations
All instructors are former smokers and health professionals. Group interaction will be promoted in an effort to develop a support network among those with the same goal—to stop smoking. Individuals may join at any time and attend as many sessions as they like. The class is free; however, participants can elect to purchase a $10 class guide with exercises for each class topic.
