COLUMBIA, Tenn. — If you have resolved to break the habit of smoking in the new year, Maury Regional Medical Center offers support through a group smoking cessation program during the month of January.

The program will consist of a series of four classes held each Monday beginning January 3 from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in the First Floor Conference Room at the medical center. Classes for January are as follows:

  • January 3 – Starting Out & Removing Roadblocks
  • January 10 – Getting Ready to Quit
  • January 17 – Staying Off Cigarettes
  • January 24 – Questions and Celebrations

All instructors are former smokers and health professionals who understand the challenges that come with breaking this habit. Group interaction will be promoted in an effort to develop a support network among those with the same goal—to stop smoking. Participants are required to purchase a $10 class guide with exercises for each class topic.
