Maury Regional Women's Center offers luncheon seminar

COLUMBIA, Tenn. – The Maury Regional Women’s Center will host a free Women Helping Women luncheon program on Wednesday, October 10, at noon, in the Auxiliary Conference Room at Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC).

Lindsey Hemphill Howell, coordinator of the After Breast Cancer (ABC) program at the Maury County Family YMCA, will be the guest speaker.

The ABC program, the seventh program of its kind in Middle Tennessee, began in February at the Maury County Family YMCA. The 16-week program provides participants with a YMCA membership along with a customized fitness plan developed by a Pink Ribbon™ certified personal trainer and nutrition counseling with a registered dietitian. The program includes educational seminars and lymphedema screening. The ABC program is offered at no cost to participants, in part through the sponsorship of the Maury Regional Health Care Foundation.

At the upcoming program, Howell will discuss the positive impact the ABC program is having on local breast cancer survivors. Women who have completed the program will also share their experiences.

The public is invited to attend this event. Lunch will be provided. Reservations must be made by calling 931.540.4166.
