Wayne Medical Center employees support breast cancer awareness

 

WAYNESBORO, Tenn. — In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, employees of Wayne Medical Center (WMC) contributed more than $1,400 to a local organization that assists cancer patients.

According to Franklin Cole, WMC director of imaging, employees of the medical center’s imaging and dietary departments led fundraisers throughout the month of October to support the Ladies in Pink Society (LIPS) of Waynesboro.

Imaging staff members designed t-shirts promoting breast cancer awareness and raised $1,370 through the t-shirt sales. Dietary staff members baked and sold cookies during October, raising $114.22. Proceeds of the two fundraisers were presented to representatives of LIPS.
