Wayne Medical Center sponsors free community health fair

WAYNESBORO, Tenn. — Wayne Medical Center (WMC) will host the fifth annual community health fair on Saturday, April 14, at the National Guard Armory, located at 106 Industrial Drive in Waynesboro, from 8:00 a.m. until noon. All community members are encouraged to attend this free event.

The health fair will feature free health screenings, health and wellness information, kids’ activities, free refreshments and door prizes. Screenings will include:

  • Cholesterol and glucose screening (participants must be fasting)
  • Blood typing
  • Blood pressure checks
  • Body mass index (BMI)
  • Bone density screening
  • Hearing screening
  • Oxygen saturation
  • Pulmonary function testing
  • Sleep study screening
  • Vision screening

Door prizes will be given away. Among the prizes are a PSA test, mammogram, complete bone mineral density test, fitness center membership, EKGs and many others.

Health fair sponsors are Wayne Medical Center, Duren’s Health Mart Pharmacy, Wayne County Bank, Bank of Waynesboro, Deaconess Home Care, Ladies in Pink Society, Medi-Serv, Peoples Bank, Sleep E-Z, TN Quality Homecare & Hospice, Volunteer Homecare West TN, Volunteer Hospice and Wayne County Assisted Living.
