Wayne Medical Center sponsors free community health fair in Clifton

 

WAYNESBORO, Tenn. — Wayne Medical Center (WMC) will host its sixth annual community health fair on Saturday, April 13, according to CEO Harley Smith. The event will be held at Frank Hughes School, located at 444 Main Street in Clifton, from 8:00 a.m. until noon. All community members are encouraged to attend this free event.

The health fair will feature free health screenings, health and wellness information, kids’ activities, free refreshments and door prizes. Screenings will include:

  • Cholesterol and glucose screening (participants must be fasting)
  • Blood typing
  • Blood pressure checks
  • Body mass index (BMI)
  • Bone density screening
  • Hearing screening
  • Oxygen saturation
  • Pulmonary function testing
  • Sleep study screening
  • Vision screening 

Door prizes will be given away. Among the prizes are a PSA test, mammogram, complete bone mineral density test, fitness center membership, EKGs and many others.

Health fair sponsors are Wayne Medical Center, Duren’s Health Mart Pharmacy, Wayne County Bank, Aid & Assist At Home, Bank of Waynesboro, Deaconess Home Care, Peoples Bank, TN Quality Homecare & Hospice, Volunteer Homecare of West TN and Wayne County Assisted Living.
