WAYNE MEDICAL CENTER HEALTH FAIR BENEFITS HUNDREDS

COLUMBIA, Tenn.—Wayne Medical Center’s (WMC) community health fair provided free health screenings and wellness information to more than 300 community members on Saturday, October 25, between 8 a.m. and noon.

The second annual health fair was hosted at the National Guard Armory and featured approximately 20 booths, each giving away door prizes such as a free mammogram, a Nintendo Wii and a fitness center membership. In addition to the screenings, wellness information and door prizes, the event also featured free kids activities and food and drinks.

The free screenings included: cholesterol and glucose screening (participants must be fasting), blood pressure checks, bone density testing, eye exam, hearing screening, nutrition body mass index (BMI), oxygen saturation, and pulmonary function testing.

Health fair sponsors were Wayne Medical Center, Duren’s Healthmart, Bank of Waynesboro, Wayne County Bank, Medi-Serv, Volunteer Home Care, Peoples Bank, and Volunteer Hospice.
