Wayne Medical Center joins UT Extension to offer free workshop series

 

WAYNESBORO, Tenn. — Wayne Medical Center (WMC) will join UT Extension to offer a free workshop series titled “Living Well with Chronic Conditions.” The series of workshops will be offered each Tuesday from May 7 through June 11, at 6 p.m., at Waynesboro Church of God, located at 522 Highway 64 West in Waynesboro.

The fun, skill-building program will help persons with a chronic condition and their caregivers learn to better manage the condition and get more from life. Topics to be addressed include:

  • Management of symptoms
  • Problem-solving techniques
  • Benefits of physical activity and healthy eating
  • Proper medication usage
  • Making informed decisions
  • Depression management
  • Working with your health care provider

Sessions will be facilitated by Charlotte Smith of UT Extension and Julie Odle, a licensed practical nurse on the staff at WMC. Chronic medical conditions include arthritis, asthma, cancer, COPD, depression, diabetes, heart disease, obesity and fibromyalgia.
