MAURY REGIONAL HEALTH CARE FOUNDATION ESTABLISHES WALTON LEGACY SOCIETY

COLUMBIA, Tenn. – The board of directors of the Maury Regional Health Care Foundation recently established the Walton Legacy Society in honor of Dr. Charles D. Walton, a physician who was the prominent force in bringing Maury County Hospital, now known as Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC), to life.

The Walton Legacy Society was established to recognize individuals who have remembered the Foundation in their estate planning with a financial gift.

Mr. Waymon L. Hickman, senior chairman of First Farmers and Merchants Bank and long-time chairman of the medical center’s board of directors, was the first individual to pledge a deferred gift to the foundation.

“I have been associated with Maury Regional for more than 25 years. As a not-for-profit organization, they are committed to serving the health care needs of all individuals regardless of their financial resources. When the foundation was established, I knew it would serve to enhance the difference that the medical center makes in the lives of others by assisting those less fortunate. By providing a gift through my estate, I will help enable the foundation to assist future generations,” said Hickman.
