In 2011, Maury Regional Medical Center partnered with the internationally recognized, nonprofit organization Planetree whose philosophy is patient-centered care in a healing environment. Planetree was founded in 1978 and has become a pioneer in personalizing, humanizing and demystifying the health care experience for both patients and their families. Guided by ten primary components, the Planetree model focuses on the empowerment of patients and their families through information and education and it also encourages the creation of “healing partnerships” with caregivers.
Our partnership with Planetree exemplifies our commitment to meet extensive patient-centered care criteria. Through teamwork and innovation, our caregivers are dedicated to providing patient-centered care, “Every patient, every day.”
Maury Regional Medical Center is currently the only acute care hospital in the state of Tennessee and one of only 65 healthcare organizations worldwide to receive the Planetree Designation for Patient-Centered Care since the program was launched in 2007.
