Foundation announces 2014 Art Effects dates

COLUMBIA, TN - Art lovers and all those who appreciate the good work done by the Maury Regional Health Care Foundation should mark their calendars for the Foundation’s 2014 Art Effects Show and Sale which is scheduled for August 1 and 2 at the Memorial Building in downtown Columbia. The hours for Art Effects will be from noon until 8 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday.

This year’s featured artist is David Nichols who made the decision to pursue his passion for art after obtaining degrees in engineering and business. Nichols is a member of the Mountain Brook Art Association and an associate member of the American Impressionists Society. He was published in the North Light Magazine and has participated in shows at Harding Academy, Lipscomb Academy and Brentwood Academy as well as Art Effects for a number of years. His paintings may be found in private and corporate collections in the U.S. and abroad.

Nichols will be joined by dozens of other artists whose mediums include oil, watercolor, pottery, jewelry, wood and more. A portion of the proceeds from each sale will benefit the Foundation’s charitable work in the eight-county region served by Maury Regional Medical Center.

First Farmers and Merchants Bank has signed on as the primary sponsor for the Foundation’s annual event which raises funds to help meet the needs of area families in need.

“We are looking forward to another great Art Effects. This is our eighth year and we are thrilled with the talented artists who participate,” said Foundation Executive Director Joe Kilgore. “We are extremely grateful to First Farmers for underwriting this event. Through the generosity of sponsors, we are able to ensure that proceeds directly fund programs and services offered through the Foundation for those who struggle with financial resources.”
