Pharmacy Residency Program
Maury Regional Health and Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy have formed a collaboration to offer a post-graduate year one (PGY1) pharmacy residency. This unique residency is accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and merges inpatient and outpatient care with academia. The majority of the resident’s four-week clinical rotations will occur at Maury Regional Medical Center, a 255-bed regional medical center located in Columbia, Tennessee.
The resident will become an expert in managing a variety of disease states and caring for a wide range of populations from premature infants to geriatric patients. The resident will provide in-services, journal clubs, pharmacy continuing education as well as didactic and clinical teaching. Appointment is contingent upon graduation, eligibility for pharmacy licensure in the state of Tennessee and successful completion of Maury Regional Health's required health testing.
Through collaboration with Lipscomb, the resident will complete a teaching and learning certificate and provide lectures and topic discussions to current Lipscomb pharmacy students. Additionally, each resident will complete a research project and have the opportunity to present their research at a local, regional and/or national meeting.
