Could Exercise Be Fun?

COLUMBIA, Tenn. – The Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) Diabetes Education Group will meet at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, in the medical center’s Private Dining Room One. The topic for the May meeting will be “Could Exercise Be Fun?”

Corporate Wellness Director for Ignite Wellness Shelby Wilson will demonstrate exercises that are fun, easy and can be done in the comfort of the home.

“Diabetes and exercise go hand in hand. Exercise can lower your blood glucose, cholesterol and blood pressure, help with weight loss, help you feel better about yourself and improve your overall health,” Wilson said.

The Diabetes Education Group meets regularly on the first Tuesday of each month to discuss and share helpful information about diabetes and related illnesses. The meetings are one component of MRMC’s award-winning outpatient diabetes education program, received following rigorous onsite auditing by the American Diabetes Association. There is no charge to attend these meetings which are open to the public. More information may be obtained by calling 931.540.4324 or at mauryregional.com.
