Basic Dysrhythmia / Basic ECG


This is a 16-hour course that covers the interpretation of a single cardiac rhythm strip.

The course reviews basic anatomy, physiology, and electrophysiology of the heart to assist the participant to understand the potential clinical changes one might anticipate with various alterations to the normal cardiac rate and rhythm. The course will cover the rhythm disturbances as applicable to the origin of the abnormality: sinus, atrial, junctional, ventricular, and atrioventricular blocks.  The expected clinical management will also be reviewed. 

This course is approved for 15 continuing nursing education units.

Maury Regional Medical Center is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Tennessee Nurses Association, an accredited provider by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
