Fundamentals of Cardiac Monitoring


This is a 4 hour course that is intended for the Med-Surg Nurse to assist with understanding basic cardiac rhythms and rhythm changes as reported by the telemetry monitoring staff.  The course will assist the nurse to identify possible actions to be taken when any significant changes occur.

The Course objectives are:

  • Identify basic cardiac rhythms.
  • Assess patient according to rhythm changes.
  • Describe the actions to be taken when notified per Monitor Tech of patient’s cardiac rhythm changes.

This course is approved for 4 continuing nursing education units.

Maury Regional Medical Center is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Tennessee Nurses Association, an accredited provider by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

REGISTRATION & PAYMENT

Advance registration is required. The registration deadline is two weeks prior to the scheduled course.
