Reconstruction After Mohs Surgery

Mohs surgery is a technique performed by specially trained dermatologic surgeons to remove skin cancer in a systematic and sequential fashion. This ensures the complete removal of all involved cells on the same day as the excision.

Mohs surgeons coordinate with our plastic surgeons while removing the cancer so our plastic surgeons can repair the resulting defect very soon after surgery. With long relationships based in trust and respect for each other’s skills, Dr. Fulks, Dr. Endara and their dermatologic colleagues offer this coordinated approach for their patients.

Typically the excision procedure is scheduled the day prior to the reconstruction. Patients will consult with our plastic surgeons prior to scheduling to discuss all details and potential procedures that will be necessary following their excisional surgeries.
