Two free seminars on February 28 to focus on heart disease


In conjunction with Heart Month, Maury Regional Medical Center will offer two free heart health seminars on Tuesday, February 28 and the community is invited to attend. Cardiologists with Vanderbilt Heart-Columbia on the Maury Regional medical staff will present the pair of programs. New physicians join Maury Regional medical staff

Four new physicians have joined the medical staff at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Temujin Dinaram, M.D., a specialist in interventional cardiology, is associated with Vanderbilt Heart–Columbia.

Brook Helmer, M.D., a specialist in family medicine, is associated with PrimeCare Clinic which is a family medicine practice offering health care for all ages.


Jeffrey L. Mitchell II, D.P.M., a specialist in podiatry, is associated with Advanced Foot & Ankle Care Centers.


Marvin Montgomery Smith, M.D., a specialist in radiology, is associated with Southern Radiology Associates.

Foundation to host Mule Kick 5K in Columbia on April 1

Hosted by the Maury Regional Health Care Foundation and presented by Community First Bank & Trust, the Mule Kick 5K and 1-Mile Trot will take place on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Riverwalk Park in Columbia.

Proceeds from the 2017 Mule Kick 5K and 1-Mile Trot will go toward the purchase of a mobile health care clinic. A portion of the proceeds will also be donated to the Wellness and Aquatic Center Healthy Living Endowment and the City of Columbia Parks and Recreation Department.

Maury Regional offers free diabetes support in 2017

The Maury Regional Medical Center Diabetes Education Group has announced meeting dates for 2017. The schedule includes morning and evening sessions.

Classes are coordinated by Certified Diabetes Educator Michelle Kennedy, RN. Each session focuses on a topic of interest about the self-management of diabetes and blood sugar levels. Previous topics have included exercise, foot care, holiday meal planning and eye care...(Read more)

Maury Regional accepting MASH program applications in February

Students who will be juniors or seniors in the next school year and are interested in pursuing careers in health care are encouraged to apply for the 2017 Maury Academy for Students in Health (MASH) program.


MASH is a two-week camp coordinated by the medical center’s Volunteer Services Department for high school students interested in learning about health care professions. Students are exposed to a number of health-related career specialties by interacting with professionals who work in those fields.
