Geriatric Behavioral Health

More than half of all Americans will experience behavioral health issues in their lifetime. Most often, these issues arise within our elderly loved ones. Sometimes we cannot see the pain and troubles that others are feeling, but we can see the signs. When behavioral health issues arise, seek compassionate and professional help through Senior Life Solutions, Marshall Medical Center’s outpatient geriatric behavioral health program.

Outpatient Care Close to Home

Our outpatient program for seniors provides structured treatment with emphasis on stabilization and functional improvement. Patients in the program may benefit from therapy groups as well as daily activities and education conducted by a registered nurse. Patients attend 11 hours or less of treatment per week.

Signs of behavioral health issues may include:

  • Sadness, crying spells, worrying
  • Thoughts or attempts of suicide
  • Poor appetite or loss of interest in food
  • Decreased energy
  • Mood swings
  • Anxiety or nervousness
  • Difficulty managing anger or stress
  • Feelings of helplessness or hopelessness
  • Depression or loneliness
