Wayne Medical Center CEO retires, new leader welcomed

WAYNESBORO, Tenn. — Wayne Medical Center (WMC) CEO Teresa Grimmett recently retired and the medical center has welcomed Tyler Taylor as CEO.

Grimmett has provided nearly 40 years of service to Maury Regional Health. She began her career as a medical laboratory technologist at Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) in 1980. She served as director of the laboratory at MRMC for 16 years. Since 2014, Grimmett has served as CEO at WMC.

“We thank Teresa for her many years of dedicated service to Maury Regional Health and for serving Wayne Medical Center so well for the past three years,” said Paul Betz, chief operating officer for Maury Regional Health. “On behalf of the employees, physicians and board members at Wayne Medical Center, we wish her a wonderful retirement with her family.”

Taylor joined Maury Regional Health in 2013 as director of revenue cycle for Maury Regional Medical Group, formerly Family Health Group. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Georgia and master’s degrees in health services administration and business administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and past president of the Southern Middle Tennessee Medical Group Management Association.

“Since joining our organization, Tyler has demonstrated solid leadership in both finance and operations. We are pleased to have him serve Wayne Medical Center and the community in this leadership role,” said Betz.
