Care of the Older Adult


This class describes the normal process of aging and recommended health promotion practices for older adults. Pathophysiology of aging is included, with recommendations for interventions to maintain a safe environment.

Course objectives:

  • Describe normal aging
  • Discuss recommended health promotion practices for the older adult
  • List 4 special concerns of the older adult

This course is approved for four continuing nursing education units.

Maury Regional Medical Center is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Tennessee Nurses Association, an accredited provider by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Care of the Older Adult will be held in the Education building behind Maury Regional Medical Center.
